That’s nice of your local supermarket. I’m amazed they have fresh yeast in there – I always thought supermarket “bakeries” just used pre-prepared dough that was just baked on site.

Hi Both,

Your breads look fantastic Dan! Dave’s still really enjoying baking bread and baked the gruyere & cumin loaf from the Dough book the other day which was very tasty. He has found that you ask in the bakery section of supermarkets they’ll provide fresh yeast – he’s got some at Morrisons and Sainsburys so far.

Fresh yeast can be elusive. Some people say it’s worth asking your local bakers shop, but luckily I can get it at SMBS on Lordship Lane.

An impressive array, you should do it professionaly.

On another note where can I get fresh yeast? Tried at health food shop, supermarket and various local shops?
